An article in In Touch magazine claims that Britney Spears is moving back to her hometown of Kentwood. However, her publicist denies the report.
What do you think? Should Britney move back to Kentwood? Would it help with her problems with the paparazzi, or would it just turn Kentwood into a photographer's paradise?

Do our opinions seriously count when it comes to Miss Spears? Her problems with the press are her own creation. She chose to spend her life becoming a "star", and as with every decision we make in life, there are rewards and consequences which go with them. It is a fact that no matter where she chooses to live, the papparzzi will find her. Therefore, in my stated opinion, she needs to just stay where she is and take what may come. Tangipahoa Parish has undergone enough since Katrina blew through, we do not need more problems.
The Kentwood Police Department is a small, hometown department. Their first duty is to protect and serve the ENTIRE community, not just one family. With the problems this young woman would bring with her, such as traffic jams along the road where she resides, scores of Journalists slithering around her home and following her everywhere she goes... well, you get the idea, I am much afraid the general public would suffer.
Just my opinion, but Brittany...FORGET THAT KENTWOOD WAS ONCE HOME...PLEASE?

I recently watched her interview concerning carrying her baby on her lap while speeding away from paparazzi on a major highway. Her response" It's a country thang, we're country." Granted - I also learned to drive on some of these back gravel roads and dry fields to get the hang of driving. But even being "country" I have the COMMON SENSE to never drive with my baby on my lap - especially on a major city street. And neither should anyone else.
Spears is absolutely NOT the spokesperson for us "country folk" - so I wish she would stop acting like she is.

There is plenty of information on the Iraq War in the regular newspaper. We always welcome letters to the editor.
I am of the opinion that entertainment helps us lighten up in otherwise trying times.

Who gives a flying flip about whether Britney moves back or not. Her parents still live there. Who cares if she wants to get away from her idiot husband and move back home? If she wasn't a celebrity, this wouldn't even be an issue. I hate this idea today of celebrities not even being able to leave their houses because the rest of society is stuck up their butt. I mean seriously....leave the girl alone for goodness sakes!

To say "leave Britney alone" is a naive. It is to be expected that paparazzi and journalists will hound her wherever she goes-regardless of local resources- simply because of her celebrity. It's part of the business. Deal with it.
In fact, why not beat them at their own game? Schedule some appearances around the parish and pump some money into the local economy. Get involved in local events and nonprofits. Hell, build some kind of amusement park with her favorite rides and games. After everything that's happened, we could all use some positive press.

This is kind of true, she's not technically from Kentwood...she's from Greenlaw. To set the record straight, her parents don't really live in Kentwood either. I guess from time to time you can catch them at home. Last I heard her dad was running a restaurant in LA and I'm sure her mom is with Jamie Lynn in Florida or wherever she is working with Nickelodeon.
But like other's have said. Who really cares if she moves back. She's gone down hill and even worse has disgraced the citizens of Kentwood and Tangipahoa parish by making "country" people look stupid and uneducated.

You make a good point here. There are sooooo many good people in this area, I don't know where to begin. We do have neighbor helping neighbor, and people just being good to one another.
Unfortunately, and no thanks to the Hollywood buzz, our good nature is usually perceived as ignorant and uneducated. Taking our "kindness for weakness" in other words. And us "country folk" have been that way for generations. Our world here didn't start revolving when television was invented. But it sure as hell can stop us in our tracks when a movie or news report is made about how stupid we are, doesn't it?
Any fool can take their clothes off and make a reality television show about their newlywed sex life - just as Spears has done. But why don't we all? I'd like to think that despite the rest of the nations perception of us "country folk", that we DO have more dignity and respect for ourselves.
I realize that Lousiana has statistically one of the worst education scores nation wide, but do those who take these statistics ever visit Tangipahoa much? I doubt it.
I think it would be wonderful. I think she has accomplished something all of us would like to have done. Imagine being that young and having her whole life in front of her to do as she wishes. I think it would be wonderful to have a celebrity in the area.
I think Brittney shaoild move home! It would do alot for our community around here and this is her home so if she wants its a free country. As far as her driving her baby on her lap, how many times a day do we see that here, she just got caught!!!!
